Sterling board deems dog dangerous after May bite incident. The Animal Control Advisory Board voted 3-0-2 to designate Ryder, owned by Steven and Kathy MacAulay, as a dangerous dog after the animal bit Sterling resident Gary McNamara during his morning walk in May; McNamara also reported a prior October 2024 bite from the same dog. Vice Chair Anne Marie Catalano moved for the dangerous designation, with Chair Terry Sadler and Lori Underwood voting yes, while Cindy Miller and Fran Simonds abstained.
The Board ordered strict confinement restrictions and mandated a behavioral assessment by a veterinary behaviorist within 30 days.
