Board of Health approves interim succession plan for absent Health Agent.

Sterling Board of Health adopts interim plan as Health Agent vacancy looms. Chairman Richard Lane will serve as emergency contact, with board members Gary C Menin Sr and Vice-Chair Gail Hassett authorized to perform soil evaluations and other duties pending a permanent hire. The board voted unanimously to seek Town Administrator approval for compensating members at the Health Agent rate for inspections and related work.

Members will review the Health Agent job description and contact neighboring boards of health, Nashoba, Princeton, Boylston, West Boylston, and Leominster, to explore interim coverage options. The next meeting is set for April 9, 2026.
