Sterling Board of Health approves septic code variance and updates communication policy. At the January 7 meeting, Chairman Richard Lane, Vice-Chair Gai Hassett, and Member Gary C Menin Sr. unanimously approved a Local Upgrade Approval for 45 Swett Hill Road permitting a reduction from four feet to two feet in the required separation between estimated seasonal high groundwater table and the leach area bottom, plus authorization for sieve analysis due to wet testing conditions. Health Agent David Favreau reported issuance of five Certificates of Compliance, four Construction Permits, seven Title 5 Inspection Reports, and twelve 2026 Hauler permits covering 43 trucks.

The board also unanimously adopted proposed revisions to the Comprehensive Policy and Procedure Review communication policy section.
