Committees hear DPW facility redesign presentation.

Sterling Finance and Capital Budget Committees reviewed the redesigned DPW facility project, which cuts 8,700 square feet from the building and 1,600 square feet from the canopy. The DPW Facility Committee, consisting of one DPW board member, one Select Board member, one Finance Committee member, and two citizen members, selected Weston & Sampson as architect and designer. Vertex, the Owner Project Manager as required for projects exceeding $1.5 million under state law, will manage the budget, schedule, and contractor review.
The facility is classified as "Risk IV," requiring enhanced building codes to ensure operation during natural disasters.
