Council on Aging approves $20,000 CD investment from donation account.
Council on Aging · Meeting of March 19, 2026
Sterling Council on Aging votes to invest $20,000 in interest-bearing account. The board unanimously approved a motion by Peter MacDonald, seconded by Treasurer Dave Cosgrove, directing Director Sheila Beane to arrange with the town to move $20,000 from the COA donations account into a certificate of deposit to support senior services directly rather than allowing interest to flow to the town general fund. The recommendation followed public comment by Dick Maki.
The board also approved prior minutes and the Director's report, and MacDonald introduced a long-term strategic planning framework for future discussion.
