DPW Facility Committee approves April minutes, reviews Town Meeting response.
DPW Facility Committee · Meeting of May 14, 2026
STERLING — The Sterling DPW Facility Committee approved its April minutes and charted next steps following strong Town Meeting reception for a new building proposal. The committee, chaired by Jonathan Morini, will engage a social media consultant, separately budget building and site fees to enable cost-per-square-foot comparisons, and explore alternative town sites pending code assessments. The Worcester Road parcel appraisal stands at $1.25 million as currently configured, with $153,000 remaining in capital funds.
A new roof is needed for the existing DPW building to maintain a safe working environment for staff. Mark Gauthier will retire from the finance committee June 30 and requires replacement. The group moves to monthly meetings, with the next scheduled June 15, 2026.
