DPW Facility Committee plans March joint-board presentation on new building proposal.
DPW Facility Committee · Meeting of February 18, 2026
STERLING — DPW Facility Committee outlines March presentation to boards on building alternatives. Chair Jonathan Morini's panel will present cost estimates for renovating the current facility versus building anew, including schematic designs, deficiency analysis of the salt shed and fuel island, and pie-chart breakdowns of expenses. The committee noted that bringing the existing structure to code may cost as much as new construction, and that phasing a new facility would increase town costs.
A PFAS treatment plant will be constructed at the current site independent of the DPW decision and will not affect the tax rate.
