STERLING — Library board approves corrected January minutes, discusses FY 2027 budget cuts. Director Alex Grebinar told the Trustees of the Conant Public Library that the town's FY 2027 budget may fall nearly $400,000 short, forcing difficult decisions on staffing, hours, and operating expenses. Lift repairs require an additional $55,000 to complete, with a financial article planned for the May annual Town Meeting.
The library received several Local Cultural Council grants for programs, and e-materials circulation has climbed; the Gale research databases may be reinstated by LLMS on July 1st.
