Library trustees approve budget plan, fund lobby accessibility upgrade

Trustees of the Conant Public Library · Meeting of April 13, 2026

STERLING — Conant Public Library trustees unanimously back a $55,000 capital request to bring the lift lobby to code, to be voted at the May 4 town meeting as part of Article 15. Director Alex Grebinar reported the library is 75 percent through the fiscal year with balanced budget lines, and will return $9,127.47 in unused security camera funds to the town via Article 12. Youth services registered 23 new patrons at Houghton Elementary's Literacy Night, and the library's seed library has served 133 patrons since opening March 2.

The trustees thanked Trustee Dan Flaherty, whose three-and-a-half-year term ends without seeking re-election.
