Library trustees reorganize, elect new officers
Trustees of the Conant Public Library · Meeting of May 18, 2026
STERLING — Library trustees elect new officers following governance review. The Trustees of the Conant Free Public Library unanimously appointed Sara Petullo as Chair and Amanda Sayut as Secretary on May 18. Director Alex Grebinar reported receipt of $11,740 in second-installment state aid and was awarded a $1,500 professional development grant from the Massachusetts Library System for an 18-month American Library Association instructional series in library management and support-staff certification.
With the fiscal year 83 percent complete, all budget lines remain on track. The board declined to formally sponsor a community reading of Frederick Douglass's "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" on June 28, citing conflicts with the library's program policy requiring professional performers selected by staff and logistical constraints during peak season.
