Planning Board approves as-built plan and solar farm modifications

Planning Board · Meeting of April 23, 2026

Sterling Planning Board clears dual solar farm permits and storage facility. The board voted 4-0 to endorse an Approval Not Required subdivision off Metropolitan Road and to approve a site plan modification reducing panel rows and increasing the perennial stream offset from 100 feet to 200 feet to satisfy Department of Environmental Protection requirements. Chair Carl Corrinne and members Val Pruneau, John Santoro, and Eric Newman also unanimously approved a final as-built plan for New England Fence at 78 Worcester Road, reducing containerized storage from 14 units to 11 and adding drainage improvements mandated by the Department of Conservation and Resources.

The board will reconvene April 30 to address zoning amendment language flagged by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
