STERLING — Select Board unanimously approves transition plan for fiscal offices in Sterling. Treasurer Collector Victoria Smith will retire in September after 125 remaining work days; Sharon McGowan will assume the position with Meggin Hendley as Assistant Treasurer. Hendley, employed with Sterling for 18 years, collected approximately $500,000 in outstanding tax debt over 18 months.
The board also voted unanimously to close the Butterick Building on Fridays from June 8 through Labor Day, with hours Monday through Thursday to be determined through employee survey, and adopted a new Federal Grants Policy and Procedure required for federal funding eligibility.
