STERLING — Finance and Capital Budget committees hear six FY2027 presentations totaling $10.8 million in operating expenses. Police Chief Sean Gaudette's department requested $185,880 in capital funding for vehicles, a fingerprint machine, and building work; Town Administrator Bill Caldwell reported a $4.4 million town budget with Insurance/Benefits climbing 11 percent to $2.9 million; COA Director Sheila Beane noted 156 volunteers delivering $300,000 in in-kind annual service despite the center seeking town support for software, certifications, and lunch supplies. Finance Committee Chair Joseph King thanked department heads for thorough budget preparation.
