Sterling Select Board reorganizes leadership, elects Maureen Cranson as Chair. Ron Furmaniuk became Vice Chair and Patricia Ward became Clerk in unanimous votes. The board voted unanimously to advance planning for temporary netting at Gibbs Field Little League facility to prevent foul balls from disrupting adjacent games; staff will gather cost estimates and explore Gibbs family trust funding.
In a lengthy dog-nuisance hearing, neighbors testified a Great Pyrenees named Pearl has barked continuously since September 2021, but the board noted Sterling has no noise ordinance to enforce and took no formal action. The Chocksett School eighth-grade field trip to Sholan Park on June 18 was approved unanimously with parental liability waivers and school insurance required.
